Darryl L. Reitnauer

Darryl L. "Peachy"/"Sarge" Reitnauer 79 of Muhlenberg Township died Thursday afternoon in his residence. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Quillman) Reitnauer. Marriage vows were exchanged on January, 9, 1965 at Dryville Church. They shared a loving marriage of fifty-three years.

Msgt. Reitnauer was the son of the late William and Pearl (Brunner) Reitnauer.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children; Jeffrey A. husband of Erin Reitnauer of Muhlenberg Township; and a daughter, Denise M. Fiancé of Ken C. Himmelberger of Mohnton.

Three grandchildren; Antoinette P. Carlson of Manton, Michigan, Cain D. Reitnauer of Muhlenberg Township, and Joshua L. Reitnauer of Muhlenberg Township.

Also, two brothers; Robert Reitnauer of Muhlenberg Township, and David Reitnauer of Blandon. A sister Sally A. Reitnauer of Puerto Rico.

Darryl served his county in the United States Air Force for four years; and eighteen years service in the United States Marine Corp. He served two tours in Vietnam before retiring as a master sergeant (E-8).

After retiring from the military Darryl was employed twenty years by Deka Battery last working as a fork lift operator retiring in 1993.
