Darlene Faye (Bieber) Rusk

Darlene Faye Rusk, 58, of Fleetwood, passed away Saturday, November 8th at her residence.
She was the wife of Michael L. Rusk, with whom she shared 22 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of Virginia R. (Kulp) Bieber of Boyertown and the late Warren M. Bieber.
Darlene graduated from Exeter Twp. High School in 1974, Reading Area Community College in 1977 with an AAS, and Alvernia College in 1984 with a BS in Biology.
She had been employed as a medical technologist at Community General Hospital, Reading Hospital & Medical Center, St. Joseph Medical Center, Keystone Community Blood Bank (Miller-Keystone), and retired from Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, PA in July 2012 as a blood bank supervisor.
She was a member of St. Thomas Church, Bernville, where she served on the Mission Committee.
Surviving along with her husband and mother are her children: Brent Schartel and Bryan Schartel, fiancé of Amelia Freeman; and step-children: Heidi, wife of David Zentner Jr., and Michael P. Rusk.
There are two grandchildren: Michael J. Rusk and Liam Zentner.
Also surviving are siblings: Albert Bieber, husband of Charlene, of Wellsboro, PA; Janet, wife of Danny Arcilla of Punta Gorda, FL; Roy Bieber, husband of Peri, of Birdsboro, PA; and two nephews and three nieces.
A funeral service will be held Friday, November 14th at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 536 N. Main St., Bernville, PA, with Rev. Arlan Bond officiating. Interment will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Twp. There will be a viewing Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Darlene's memory may be made to St. Thomas Church Endowment Fund at the address above or to Asera Care, 5920 Hamilton Blvd., Suite 103, Allentown, PA 18106.
