Dale R. Finkbone, 63, of Reading, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 16th.
Born in Reading, he was the son of R. Dale and Beverly (Hartman) Finkbone of Florida.
Dale was a 1969 graduate of Muhlenberg High School, he then went on to receive his Associates in Computer Technology from Pace Institute and his Bachelors in Business Administration from Reading Area Community College. He was employed for 30 years by NGK Metals, Muhlenberg as an engineer. Following that, he worked with Berks County Intermediate Unit for 10 years and also Quadrant Engineering for the past year.
Mr. Finkbone is a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park. He was a also a member of The Beneficial Society Victor Emmanuel II and Reading Liederkranz. He was also active with Mt. Pleasant Fire Company. Dale was an avid outdoorsman, and loved boating at his parent's former home in the Poconos. He also had a love for sports, and was known as a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers and coached wrestling at his alma mater in Muhlenberg. In his free time he also played bass with the Oklahoma Dan Band.
His true love was his family, he loved attending his grandson's sporting events and will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and the best son a father could have.
Surviving is his wife, Bonnie Lynn (Bauers) Finkbone at home; daughter, Jennifer Schafer and husband Lee, Exeter; son, Brian Finkbone, Shillington; step-daugher, Michele Gonzalez and husband Laurent, Florida; step-sons, Brian Yoder and wife Tiffany, Tennessee, Bradley Yoder, Reading, and Timothy Nye, Pottstown; grandchildren, Nicholas Schafer, Emaline Yoder, Devin and Trevor Gonzalez; sister, Deborah C. Finkbone, Florida; and his beloved pets, Mistie, Angel, and Natty.
A prayer service will be held at Milkins Giles Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple on Friday, May 22nd at 11am with the Very Rev. E. Michael Camilli officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 21st from 6 to 8 pm. Interment will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
