Clifford O. Unger 85 of Dagsboro, Delaware formerly of Reading died Saturday morning in the residence of his beloved daughter, Carolyn S. wife of Dr. David A. Lawrence. Clifford's daughter and husband cared for him in their home for the past eight years. Clifford was a very giving individual and he will be greatly missed by his family.
Clifford was born in Reading on December 20, 1927. He was the son of the late Walter and Mabel (Spangler) Unger. He was the youngest of eight siblings.
He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.
Clifford retired in 1987 with twenty-nine years service from Carpenter Technology last working as a tow motor operator. Prior to Car Tech he was employed as a baker in the Reading area.
Mr. Unger was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Savior, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. He belonged to the Reading Elks for thirty years, and was a life member of the Reading VFW.
In his younger years he was very involved in scouting.
Clifford best friend was his dog, Brady.
Interment of cremains with full military honors will be held in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton on Thursday at 10:00 A.M.
