Chester A. Williams, 90 of Alsace Township died Tuesday afternoon in his residence.
He was the husband of June M. (Scalese) Williams. They had shared fifty-five years of a loving marriage.
Chester was born in Reading, PA on May 6, 1923. He was the son of the late David T. and Elsie M. (Edmonson) Williams.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Irwin D. Williams of Fleetwood; and a daughter, Barbara Ann Sheidy of Gilbertsville.
Chester was thankful for a niece, Diane Noll, of Leesport who assisted with his care during his illness.
Chester has four grandchildren; Wendy Wojnar, Sheila Gebhard, David Williams, and Donna Coyne. He, also, has two great grandchildren; Nichole and David Gebhard, Jr.
He has two sister; Catharine Anspach a guest at the Country Meadows of Wyomissing, and Jean Buckley of Wernersville.
Chester was a member of Frieden's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Oley.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II
Chester retired in 1981 as a painter from Conrail (Reading Company) with forty two years of service.
He was a member of the Skyline Motorcycle Club, and enjoyed fishing in Ocean City, Maryland.
Chester loved his dogs, Tina Marie and Buster.
Funeral services from the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc. Temple on Friday at 10:30 A.M. with his pastor the Reverend Burl Latshaw officiating. Interment with full military honors will take place in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends in Friday 9:30 A.M. until time of funeral services.
