Cheryl A. (Madeira) Balthaser

Cheryl A. Balthaser, 65, of Tulpehocken Township, passed away Monday, January 31st at Tower Health-Reading Hospital. Born August 16th, 1956, in Reading, PA, Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Alberta (Reifsnyder) Madeira, and her sister, Sandra Fabricius.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richard A. Balthaser; daughter, Michele L. Wagner (Phillip) of Marysville, and son, Kevin A. Balthaser (Lauren) of York; She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zachary Wagner, Alexis Balthaser, and Shelby Balthaser, and her brothers, David and Scott Madeira.

Cheryl graduated from Conrad Weiser High School and was employed for 25 years at GAI-Tronics, Mohnton. Prior to her employment at GAI-Tronics, she worked at Gloray Knitting Mills in Robesonia, where she met her husband, Richard.

Cheryl was a devoted and faithful member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church where she enjoyed bible study and serving in the nursery. She also enjoyed driving her Mustang and attending events with the Berks County Mustang Car Club. She enjoyed camping, Philadelphia Flyers hockey, girl’s trips to Ocean City, MD, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and loved her dogs, Gunner and Angel.

A visitation for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, February 8th from 9:30-11, followed by a memorial service at 11 at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church- 4891 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, PA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Calvary Bible Fellowship Church- Children’s Ministries in Cheryl’s memory.
