Charles A. Kieffer, 81, of Alsace Township, passed away Wednesday in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was married for sixty three loving years to Earlene C. (Moyer) Kieffer.
Born in Alsace Twp., he was the son of the late Allen and Fern (Hepner) Kieffer.
In 1968, Charles founded Kieffer’s Gun Shop in Alsace Twp. He specialized in restoration, repairs, and sales of firearms.
He also was an avid hunter.
Charles also was formerly employed as a machinist for Berks Engineering.
Additional survivors include his children, Gerald A. Kieffer and wife Susan (Freese) Kieffer of Temple, Lori L. (Kieffer) Miller, wife of Darrall Miller of Exeter Twp., Jan M. Kieffer of Temple, and Charles A. Kieffer, Jr. and wife Andrea (Platts) Kieffer of Temple.
He is predeceased by a daughter, Charlene (Kieffer) Sipe who passed away in 2001.
Surviving are nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Charles is also survived by his brothers, George P. Kieffer, widower of Karen Kieffer who passed away in 2020, Kenneth P. Kieffer, and wife Sandy Kieffer, and Allen R. Kieffer and wife Evie Kieffer.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pat and Ronnie for always being there for Charles and his family.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 21st at 1 pm in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Reverend Merrill R. Marisseau officiating.
A viewing will take place on Wednesday from 11 am until 1 pm in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Salem Shalters Church Cemetery
