Carol J. Gechter

Carol J. Gechter, 77 of Wernersville, Pa., passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in the Reading Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Reuben and Fianna (Keppley) Phillips and the loving wife of the late Lindberg "Pat" Gechter who passed in August, 2007.

Carol loved caring for her family. She was an avid antique collector, buying and selling her unique old-fashion treasures. Bingo and yard sales were her favorite pastimes. Carol also enjoyed reading, particularly travel novels. She was a member of the 'Tops' organization in Bernville, supporting others in healthy living and fellowship. Carol was known for her direct manner and will be missed for her unconditional love.

Carol is survived by two sons: James B. Koch and his wife, Sandra of Wernersville, and Dallas L. Gechter and his wife, Doris of Bernville. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Jaime (Koch) Rodriguez, Brittany Koch, and Jeff Gechter; and five great grandchildren: Brayden, Addison, Chris, Cody, Catelynn; brother, Robert Phillips and his wife Sandy.

In addition to her husband, Carol is predeceased by three sisters: Mary Jane Lash; Nancy Schaeffer, Donna Phillips.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville, PA 19506, officiated by Reverend Robert Argot. A viewing will be held at the funeral home Friday prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be at St. Thomas Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
