Betty J. (Bricker) Smith

Betty J. Smith, 87, of Jefferson Twp., passed away Monday March 16th in St. Joseph Medical Center.

Born in Marion Twp., she was the daughter of the late James Bricker and Eva (Schell) Bricker.

Betty was a member of St. Paul's Church in New Schaefferstown where she was active in church activities.

Betty and her late brother Charlie were farmers together on their family farm in Jefferson Twp. for many years.

Betty enjoyed maintaining her vegetable and flower gardens at home and loved her pet poodle Kelly.

Surviving are two children, ,LuAnn, wife of Harvey Philumalee and Barry Bricker both of Jefferson Twp.

There are two grandchildren, Tammy Smith and husband Steve and Harvey Philumalee, Jr. and wife Jennifer both of Jefferson Twp. Also, there are three great grandchildren, Breanne and Corey Smith both of Jefferson Twp. and Taylor Philumalee, serving in the Army at Fort Benning, GA.

There is a deceased brother, Charlie Becker and a deceased sister, Ellen Bricker. There are several surviving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 21st at 11am in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville with Rev. Krista Keisling officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Church Cemetery in New Schaefferstown. A viewing will take place on Saturday morning from 10 am until time of service in the funeral home.
