Anna M. "Anne" Ruth, 80, of Womelsdorf, passed away Sunday December 15th in Mt. Pleasant following a four year battle with cancer.
Anne was born in Schaefferstown, a daughter of the late William "Jake" Ruth and Mary "Mamie" (Brown) Ruth.
She graduated from Womelsdorf High School in 1951, she was a Registered Nurse attending Nursing School in Lancaster General Hospital.
Anne had a lengthy nursing career in Philadelphia where she was employed as a Nurse Manager for a medical office and clinic. She last owned and operated a medical clinic in South Philadelphia, she then retired to her roots in Womelsdorf.
Anne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Womelsdorf.
Anne was an animal lover, supporting many animal charities, and a member of the NJ Friends of Greyhounds.
Anne was a member of the Daughters of The American Revolution.
Surviving are her siblings, George Ruth of Womelsdorf, Glenna Ruth of Myerstown, Mary McNamara of Womelsdorf, Barbara Joseph and Florence Mayes both of Florida. She is predeceased by siblings, John, Jay, and Ben Ruth, Margaret Horst, and Rita Ruth.
There are many nieces and nephews.
As per Anne's wishes, there will not be any funeral services.
